Mother's & Tots
The InTouch Mother and Toddler group is run by parents with children for parents with children. You may have experienced Mother and Toddler groups before. It is unlike a creche or playschool where mothers leave their children but instead it is a place where mothers and children can both come to play together.
Our gatherings are aimed at providing a safe play environment, which gives children the chance to play together and mothers the opportunity to play with their children as well as meet other mothers in the area.
Time is divided between free play and structured activities. There are activity tables set with items such as jigsaws, Play-do and Duplo, as well as toys for all ages. We sing songs and have a craft table where children can make something each week. There is also a snack provided for mothers and children. At regular intervals, other activities are held on these mornings e.g. bring & buy sales and it is possible to borrow any toys, games or craft material from the group for short periods without any charge.
Mothers with small babies are equally welcome and we have a special quiet corner and baby toys set aside for our youngest members.
How to find us:
The group meets every Tuesday morning from 9.30am - 11.30am at: Hazelaarweg 94 , 3053 PM, Rotterdam. You can go to http://www.routenet.nl and get a map and directions from wherever you are.
BY CAR
From the Rotterdam Ringroad, take the Hillegesburg exit (heading for Hillegesburg and Schiebroek industrial). Follow this road, straight across a set of traffic lights and a medium size roundabout. Very shortly after this, there is a large roundabout with lost of traffic lights on it - you want to go right here. Follow the road, and at the lights turn right. Then you need to take the first road on the right (if you hit the roundabout you have missed it). The clubhouse is at the end of this road on the left, and it has a car park.
BY TRAM
Take the number 5 tram to the stop on Larikslaan. From here you have a 5-10 minute walk up Kastanjesingel, across the road on the right you will see a college type building behind some trees. A footpath runs along the front of it. Take this path, and when it meets up with a road the entrance to the clubhouse will be on the right.
BY BUS
The number 35 bus runs from Hillegesburg, and you need to get off at the Kastanjesingel stop. Hopefully as you get off the bus you should see the college building off to the right mentioned above.
Events Calendar
Aside from the clubs within InTouch, a variety of events are planned for the entire group to enjoy throughout the year. These range from play dates or picnics for the whole family during weekdays, girls dinner or drinks at a local restaurant or in a member's home, partner dinners out at local restaurants, summer BBQ sans children. There are also events planned also for the men, for example Go-Karting, pool nights and drinks.
Film Club
The film club is a girl's night that meets every 2 or 3 months at either a member's home to watch a DVD or at the cinema to see the latest offering.
Coffee Mornings
The idea behind the coffee morning is to meet up with other people in InTouch and Mum's & Tots with or without your children, to chat, have a coffee or tea and a bite to eat. There is no payment required, just a chance to socialise in a different environment. They are generally a lot of fun and can be very lively, if you bring your kids they get the chance to play with different toys and have fun themselves.
